Working with five health authorities PHSA also has planned and coordinated many specialty health care services offering province-wide solutions that improve the health of British Columbians. PHSA received an even broader mandate from the BC government in summer 2018, that broadens PHSA’s provincial accountabilities to provide ‘on system of care’ across BC. In response to this mandate, this new role has been created. This new mandate affords a significant opportunity to drive system change that has not existed for 20 years. The new EVP will have the opportunity to be part of the executive team that will architect the exciting new provincial focus, or ‘one system of care’.
Reporting the President & CEO, the Executive Vice President, Provincial Clinical Service Delivery is responsible for providing overall executive leadership for province-wide quality delivery of major specialty clinical programs to all appropriate populations across B.C. including BC Cancer, BC Women’s Health, BC Children’s Health, BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services and BC Emergency Health Services. This is a high profile, influential and strategic role.
As the ideal candidate, you are a systems-thinking, strategically minded executive with over 15 years of recent, related experience working in large, complex academic heath care settings including 10 years in an executive leadership role. Your experience includes demonstrated knowledge of current best practices, quality improvement processes, and patient safety. Additional experience in a regional setting that includes multi hospital cute, complex ambulatory settings and community health settings is ideal.
