HealthCareCAN was formed from the merger of the Canadian Healthcare Association and the Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations in January 2014. A new name and logo was approved in June 2014, along with a “Statement of Strategic Intent”. A three-year strategic plan was developed by a Strategic Planning Committee that included representation from the Association of Faculties of Medicine, Canadian College of Health Leaders and Accreditation Canada. The Transitional Board was replaced by the Founding Board on June 13, 2015 at Annual General Meeting in PEI.
