The Manager, First Nations Health Programs is based in Whitehorse, the Yukon’s capital city. Reporting to the Director, First Nations Health Programs, the Manager, First Nations Health Programs provides leadership, strategic, clinical and operational direction as well as day-to-day support of programs and services provided to clients of the First Nations Health Programs (FNHP). The position is responsible for providing ongoing development, management and supervision of the FNHP team; and recommends, develops, implements and evaluates programs and services to ensure we meet the needs of FNHP clients. This includes providing leadership, casework supervision and skills coaching/mentoring to ensure safe, quality service delivery to all Indigenous patients in Yukon’s hospital system
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work along with seven (7) years’ social work experience; three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a people leadership capacity as well as a minimum of three (3) years’ experience with Indigenous health issues. Candidate will also hold a valid class 5 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract. Experience working in a hospital setting would be desired. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
