As it continues to develop innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of its community, the Perley Rideau is seeking a new Director, Nursing.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will oversee the nursing model of care, and direct the delivery of all resident care programs including long-term stay, convalescent and sub-acute care, specialized behavioral support, and Veterans’ services. You will work collaboratively across the organization to ensure excellence in care and service, with a continued focus on quality, safety, and innovation. As a leader to a dedicated nursing and personal care team, you will create an environment that fosters professional growth, collaboration, and employee engagement. You will also build and nurture strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including unions, residents, and family councils.
As the ideal candidate, you are a registered nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and ideally possess a Master’s degree. You have a minimum of eight years of nursing experience, with four years at the management level and ideally within a long-term care, sub-acute, and convalescence environment. You also have significant experience in and understanding of a unionized health care environment. A visible, engaging, and inspiring people leader, you are known for your ability to build high performing teams and providing effective coaching and mentorship. A strong communicator and relationship builder, you skillfully navigate interpersonal relationships across an organization, and manage competing interests in a highly professional and effective manner. Creative and solutions oriented, you have demonstrated an ability to balance big picture thinking with the capacity to provide hands-on support to staff and residents as required. Your knowledge of frailty in seniors and long-term care will serve you well, and your ability to communicate in English and French is a desirable asset.
