Vice President, Supply Chain

Print-friendly PDF

Location: Burnaby, BC

Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) is one of six health authorities in BC and is the only Health Authority in BC with a mandate to provide province-wide support services. PHSA works with BC’s five other geographic health authorities to deliver province-wide solutions that improve the health of British Columbians. PHSA has a unique role in the Canadian and BC health system and has earned a reputation as a global employer of choice with a team of world-class experts.

Due to the retirement of the VP, Supply Chain incumbent, an opportunity exists for a new forward-thinking change agent to join and lead this critical portfolio. With approximately 1,000 employees located across the province, Supply Chain manages over $2 billion in total annual spending on behalf of all six BC health authorities. Supply Chain staff are located on numerous clients’ sites. The department manages over 3000 contracts and delivers products to a wide range of urban and rural centres across BC. The business is highly complex and leads integrated sourcing, warehousing and logistics, customer service, product standardization, and supply chain performance.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Commercial Services, the VP, Supply Chain is a member of the PHSA Senior Leadership team and is accountable for ensuring the portfolio’s strategic objectives and operational plans are implemented effectively and efficiently. With a goal of delivering best-in-class service, the new VP will be responsible for optimizing and standardizing this complex service.

The ideal candidate is a supply chain executive in the private or public sector in a senior leadership role with experience in a complex, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environment. The ability to forge trusting relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, strategically design a best-in-class supply chain service, use data to drive decision making, and creatively problem solve is required. Experience that includes retail, procurement, health care, provincial / national scope is beneficial; the ability to lead through influence is required.

This is a rare opportunity to provide provincial leadership to a broad and highly impactful portfolio.
