Reporting to the SVP, Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive, the Director, Pharmacy is responsible for the overall function and service of the Pharmacy (hospital and retail) in alignment with the Hospital’s goals and objectives. Driven by data and a drive for continuous improvement, the Director oversees quality and risk management activities, fiscal control, and budget development.
A proven leader, the Director will oversee human resources and workforce planning, cultivating a culture of respect, trust, and lifelong learning. As an expert medication advisor to the leadership team, the Director will collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers by ensuring that all patients receive the appropriate drug therapy. Through evidence-based research and community outreach and support, they will promote the Pharmacy Patient Care Leadership Team’s vision of achieving a centre of pharmaceutical excellence in medical management, committed to making a difference in the lives of children, youth, and families.
The ideal candidate for the Director, Pharmacy role has a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, or entry level Pharmacy Doctor. They ideally have a master’s degree in Health or Business Administration, although a combination of education and extensive relevant experience may be considered, and Part A Licensed with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. A compelling communicator, the incumbent will be an experienced People Leader and team builder who can attract, engage, retain, mentor, and coach a high performing team.
