CHEO, a renowned pediatric health care and research centre, is currently seeking a Director, Finance to join their leadership team.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Finance provides direction, control, and leadership of corporate financial management, budgeting process, reporting, and accounting services in the support of the vision, mission, values, goals, and objectives of the hospital. The Director, Finance will participate on the Steering Committee for a new Enterprise Resource Project as CHEO is embarking on a journey to implement Workday, a modern new software solution that will replace numerous systems and paper processes for Finance and Payroll.
A proven leader, the Director, Finance is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating strategic plans, quality improvement, and risk management systems and strategies, cultivating a culture of respect, trust, and lifelong learning. They will keep current with best practices and legislative requirements and are directly responsible for the completeness and integrity of financial and statistical data in the preparation of monthly internal and external statements, including the year end audit file.
The Director, Finance must possess a BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or relevant field, as well as a CPA designation and a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience including 5 years of management experience in a hospital setting. A strong customer service orientation and the ability to build effective relationships are a must, as there will be extensive interaction with leaders throughout CHEO. A compelling communicator, the incumbent will be an experienced people leader and team builder who can attract, engage, retain, mentor, and coach a high performing team.
