
St. Joseph’s Care Group (SJCG) in Thunder Bay, ON is accepting applications for full time Psychologists for the Mental Health Outpatient Program at the St. Joseph’s Health Centre.
Mental Health Outpatient Program is an interprofessional, time-limited, goal-oriented team approach to mental health treatment. The program aims to provide timely access to mental health services using an evidence-based decision guide model that is focused on matching mental health needs to the appropriate service(s) available. We aim to support individuals in making better informed, strength-based and holistic choices for their mental health treatment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Psychologist is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of behavioural and mental disorders and dysfunctions; and the maintenance and enhancement of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and interpersonal functioning (Psychologist Act , 1991).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario
- Experience in the provision of brief and moderate term psychological intervention, including group and individual psychotherapy and behaviour management techniques with adults with serious mental health and/or addiction issues
- Experience in a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches with adults is preferred
- Knowledge of Decision guide/Shared Decision making model of care, motivational interviewing and strengths based approaches to care
- Knowledge and experience with the development, execution and evaluation of treatment plans utilizing SMART goals
- Skill/experience in the administration and interpretation of psychometric tests
- Experience in research, program evaluation, and knowledge transfer preferred
- Experience providing supervision to non-registered staff and/or students is preferred
- Experience working within an interprofessional team setting with the ability to work collaboratively as a team player with excellent relationship building, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- Understanding of relevant legislation (Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act and PHIPA)
- Knowledge of the Strategic Priorities of SJCG and Mental Health Outpatient Programs
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work and adherence to the SJCG Principles of Conduct
ANNUAL SALARY $119,652 – $152,490
