About the Opportunity
The Continuing Care Registered Nurse cares for clients and their families in the home setting. This includes managing clients with both acute care needs and chronic conditions as well as end of life care.
We have immediate opportunities in many areas throughout Nova Scotia in the offices below, including but not limited to:
- Sheet Habour – Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital
- Neil’s Harbour – Buchanan Memorial Community Health Centre
- Guysborough – Guysborough Memorial Hospital
- Baddeck – Victoria County Memorial Hospital
- Cheticamp – Sacred Heart Community Health Centre
- Inverness – Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital
- Sherbrooke – St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital
- Musquodoboit Harbour – Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
- Recent community acute care nursing within home setting
- If no applicants demonstrate community experience, consideration may be given to applicants with a year or more of acute care nursing experience in a hospital setting
- Current BLS-C (HCP) certification
- Understanding of case management in the community an asset
- Demonstrated clinical skills
- Ability to work independently and effective communication skills
- Access to a reliable vehicle & valid NS driver’s license
Hours
- Typical shift hours: 830am – 430pm, 5 shifts a week, including weekends *subject to change depending on operational needs
Compensation and Benefits
$40.55 – $49.99 hourly
$51.74 hourly with 25 years’ nursing experience
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan
