Reporting to the Director, Medical Staff Services, the Senior Policy and Program Coordinator will work to support safe and excellent hospital care through the day-to-day coordination of operations and activities in Yukon Hospital Corporation’s acute care physician programs and other related patient support services. Working closely and collaboratively with our hospitals’ administration, patient care and other technical and support service teams, the Senior Coordinator will develop and coordinate physician programs, recruitment, credentialing and privileging, onboarding, policy and decision documents, and scheduling in our hospitals that ensure safe and effective patient care.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Demonstrated program development and project management skills;
- Ability to develop and implement effective program policies and procedures and ensure compliance to corporate policies;
- Demonstrated ability to develop evidence-based policies and procedures;
- Excellent initiative, discretion and judgment; Strong ability to organize, prioritize, problem solve, and make decision both interdependently and independently;
- Computer proficiency with MS Office and Meditech;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to identify, build and maintain successful working relationships and partnerships;
- Excellent problem-solving, group facilitation and conflict resolution skills;
- Ability to develop strategies for overcoming barriers to hospitalist programming;
- Ability to support effective recruitment strategies and develop orientation/training materials;
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and reliability;
- Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity.
The successful candidate will have a diploma/degree and a recognized certificate in project management. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered. Experience in program and policy development, health care or hospital setting is desired for this position.
