Join our team as a permanent full-time Cardiac Rhythm Device Technologist at Nanaimo Millstone Medical Centre in Nanaimo, BC.
About the Position
As a Cardiac Rhythm Device Technologist with Island Health, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Your clinical skills, leadership, and compassion will make a direct impact on the wellbeing of the communities we serve.
In this role, you will practice in accordance with the established standards of professional practice to facilitate optimal clinical effectiveness of implanted arrhythmia management devices through the application of technical knowledge and skills to evaluate and manage device function.
You may aid with device analysis for cardiac implantable electronic device patients in the inpatient (OR/EPL) as required during device implantation, including assisting the physician during implant procedures and programming individual devices at correct values during implant and in the outpatient setting (Device Clinic). You will also provide interpretations, analyses and test/summary reports as required.
What You Will Need to Apply
- Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technologist program, including completed coursework in cardiac rhythm device technology.
- Two years of recent, related experience (or equivalent).
- Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT).
- Eligible for International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification as a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCD) within two years of hire.
