Our Members are the leaders of change in the healthcare system. They are the hospitals and healthcare organizations across our country whose mandates demand excellence. From their research successes, they change how we treat disease and illness; through their innovative practices they improve how we care for patients; and through their highly trained and skilled staff, they teach us how to stay healthy.

Participation in invitation-only CEO Forum
Canada’s Health CEO Forum is a limited space, invitation-only event to engage health leaders in open and honest discussion – under Chatham House Rule – on the challenges and issues that define the future of health in Canada, while fostering practical reflection and networking to identify paths forward.
Input into key health policy development
HealthCareCAN advocates for solutions that enhance the health of Canadians. We engage health leaders, health researchers and policymakers to drive national conversations to transform health in Canada.
One free CHA Learning course
Take advantage of your membership with HealthCareCAN by using your annual CHA Learning scholarship towards any program or course enrolment. Use this benefit to increase staff satisfaction and engagement. Many HealthCareCAN member organizations do a call for nominations and select a deserving individual from their organization to grow their knowledge and skills to support innovation and transformation.
Member discounts on CHA Learning courses
Do you have a team or group in your organization that would benefit from professional development? We will deliver significant savings to your training budgets when you enrol a team or group. If you have a team that wants to learn and progress together, we can offer them a closed-cohort where they can create a sense of community, share confidentially and securely, and put into immediate practice their learning.
Advocacy voice at the federal level
HealthCareCAN represents its members at the federal level on all matters related to funding opportunities, policy development, and community building, with the common goal to drive transformation in health. This entails:
Extending special invitations to our members to present to parliamentary committees,
Facilitating in-person meetings between our members and members of Parliament, Senators, and other government officials (for example, our annual ‘H on the Hill’ event), and
Hosting events to shape and share perspectives and develop leadership in nationally relevant health topics
Voting rights at Annual General Meeting
Each year in June, HealthCareCAN hosts its Annual General Meeting on the day preceding the National Health Leadership Conference. Participating members have the opportunity to meet and vote on important issues related to the operations of the organization, such as the membership fee schedule and organizational structure changes.

Member alerts on urgent developments
It’s hard to always be on top of the latest developments in Canadian health and research. HealthCareCAN is here to help take the pressure off you, and keep you informed on urgent and emerging issues that you care about, such as the implementation of new laws and policies that affect you (ex. Mandatory reporting of adverse effects), and opportunities to influence policies being developed by governments (ex. Phamacare).
The successful sustainability of the Canadian health system doesn’t happen in a vacuum, that’s why HealthCareCAN is a member of the International Hospital Federation, which provides its members with a platform for the exchange of knowledge and strategic experience as well as opportunities for international collaborations with different actors in the health sector. As a member of HealthCareCAN, we can pass down the benefits of membership to you.
