After months of engagement with the federal government about the need for a Task Force that can drive a life sciences industrial policy, HealthCareCAN is pleased to see the creation of the new Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Sector Task Force.
Canada has the research excellence, talent and innovation capacity to be a global leader in life sciences. A coordinated, pan-Canadian strategy is essential to ensure these strengths translate into timely access to medicines for patients, while driving economic growth, job creation and long-term competitiveness.
This is an important step forward. We look forward to the Task Force’s work in identifying practical solutions to strengthen Canada’s life sciences ecosystem and better connect discovery, development and access across the country.
