Job Opportunity

The Department of Oncology at Queen’s University in Kingson, Ontario, invites applications for a part-time (0.8 FTE) or full-time (1.0 FTE) Radiation Oncologist to join the Division of Radiation Oncology at the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario (CCSEO), part of Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC). Preference will be given to a candidate with specialized training and/or significant experience in treating Lung, Genitourinary (GU), and Gynecologic malignancies, including GU and Gynecologic brachytherapy. This position is to fill an existing vacancy within the University.

The preferred candidate will have a strong academic profile with demonstrated achievement, or potential for achievement, in research, education, or quality improvement that complements the current academic work in the Division and aligns with the Department’s strategic priorities.

Kingston Health Sciences Centre serves a catchment area of over 500,000 people as a tertiary care referral centre for Eastern Ontario. It is affiliated with Queen’s University and is home to the Sinclair Cancer Research Institute (SCRI), with strong ties to national and international research networks including the Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG) and the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR).

The successful applicant will hold a full-time academic appointment at Queen’s University and will be required to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including Medical and Surgical Oncologists, Palliative Medicine physicians, and regional partners. Applicants will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education through teaching, supervision, and mentorship.

Qualified applicants will hold an MD degree (or equivalent), have completed postgraduate qualifications prior to appointment, and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ontario. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree and with specialty certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Members of the Department of Oncology enjoy competitive compensation packages. Remuneration is through the Radiation Oncology Alternative Payment Plan in Ontario and is determined in accordance with the Department’s Practice Plan policies.
