About the Opportunity
The Nurse Rehab Counsellor will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing assessment, withdrawal management, group facilitation, individual client education and treatment planning for clients. The Registered Nurse will also work collaboratively with other treatment services and community partners to ensure ongoing continuity of care for clients.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current registration with Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
• One (1) year of mental health and addictions experience in the last five (5) years. 2 years’ experience considered an asset.
• Psychosocial training/experience considered an asset.
• Demonstrated knowledge of population health as it relates to prevention, health promotion and treatment approaches.
• Experience, knowledge and respect regarding the principles of a harm reduction, as well as a working knowledge of the dynamics of addiction.
• Experience in assessments, counselling/teaching individuals and facilitating groups considered an asset.
• A well-developed awareness of community resources.
• Competency in medication management – administering, monitoring, providing education and support.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)
• BLS-C (HCP) certification.

Hours
- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits
$40.55 – $49.99 Hourly
$51.74 Hourly with 25 years’ RN experience
