HealthCareCAN is issuing a call to action to address the rising stress and burnout rates among healthcare workers battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
To facilitate the growing need for resources for health care providers, HealthCareCAN is asking the government to:
- Ensure proper mental health supports and programs are in place to assist healthcare workers now and once the pandemic is over.
- Work with stakeholders, address the factors that contribute to increased stress, anxiety, depression and burnout in healthcare workers.
- Implement a national health human resources strategy to tackle the shortage of health professionals, create a more inclusive and resilient health system, and deliver on your government’s promise that every Canadian have access to a family doctor or primary health care team.
